More rains predicted, thousands affected in Arunachal
New Delhi, Jul 25: A fresh spell of heavy rains is likely to hit Assam and Arunachal Pradesh that are reeling under a wave of floods even as north India continue to witness an erratic monsoon activity.
The met department has warned of "heavy rains" in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Bihar, Haryana and Delhi on Tuesday.
Over 20,419 people from 32 villages under Namsai district alone have been badly affected in the current flood as the overall flood situation in Arunachal Pradesh continued to be critical.
The movement of vehicle on NH-52 has been restricted for the second day on Monday after the highway was submerged by overflowing Nao Dehing River causing substantial damage to two culverts. Only vehicles on relief duty have been allowed to cross over the highly dangerous areas. However, vehicles carrying people in need of emergency medical attention are allowed to cross, that too at their own risk.
If the situation continues for few days, it is apprehended that there may be acute shortage of essential items in four districts.
Power supply to five districts remained disrupted since July 24 evening due to falling down of electric poles due to soil erosion in Lekang circle.
Besides Nao Dehing Tengapani and Jengthu river are still flowing around the danger level inundating new areas.
District Administration has intensified rescue and relief operation and saved around 260 human lives so far with the help of NDRF, CRPF, volunteers, NGOs. Around 6000 flood affected people are currently taking shelter in 28 relief camps set up mostly in Lekang circle.
The District Administration is providing all necessary relief items while the mobile medical teams are regularly attending the people in the camps.
As per preliminary assessment, around 3,500 Hectares of agriculture field, 115 fish pond were totally submerged by flood water causing heavy losses to the farmers. Large numbers of domestic animals, have either died or swept away by flood water.
As per preliminary report, 3500 residential houses are completely damaged. The flood also caused extensive damage to rural roads, culverts and small bridges.
Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein and MLA Chau Zingnu Namchoom visited all the flood affected areas of the district and took stock of the situation.
Deputy Chief Minister appealed to the people to be united in these hours of crisis to overcome the natural disaster.
At Roing, Deputy Commissioner Ravi Dhawan in a meeting on Monday reviewed the flood situation in the district.
He took stock of the damaged roads, culverts, bridges along Roing-Hunli and Meka-Koronu roads and directed the BRTF to start the restoration works as soon as possible.
DC also instructed for early restoration of flood damages at various locations at Cheta-I, II & III and sought status reports on River Deopani.
The DC asked all the departments concerned to ensure regular supply of safe drinking water, electricity, availability of medicine and LPG stock. He also directed all the line departments to resume normal supply of all essential items in the district.
Further he informed that District Emergency Operations Centre (DEOC) is functioning 24X7 under the supervision of DDMO Alonkong Perme.
Flood situation in Pasighat remained unchanged on Monday as Siang and Sibokorong are still flowing above the danger mark.
Many government offices and residential areas are still reeling under flood water.
The district administration with the help of Pasighat urban body engaged man and machines to drain-out the clogged rainwater from Police colony and other portions this morning and eased the situation.
Local MLA Kaling Moyong visited entire flood affected areas to take stock of the situation. He directed the officers of Urban Development to clear water logging on priority.
Haphazard building construction and uncovered drains are blocking the normal flow of rainwater, he observed, and assured the people of a proper drainage system in the entire township.
According to sources, the Poglek River in Takilalung village has washed away the Pasighat-Ledum-Tene Road and drinking water pipeline of Takilalung and Runne village while submerging several acres of agricultural land on Sunday.
At Daporijo, recurring flood water forced the dwellers of Dilli-Di Colony to shift to other safe places.
According to our correspondent, a sudden rise in water level in Subansiri on Saturday around 10 pm created panic among the colony dwellers. They spared no time to run out of their houses leaving behind their all belongings.
Many of the houses and other properties were damaged completely in the flood. However, no casualty was reported from the incident so far. The dwellers are still reeling under the flood water.
Water level has started to recede on Monday. The colony is located in the confluence of both Subansiri and Sigin River.
Meantime, District Authority along with district relief team visited the affected area in the morning of Sunday and assured them to provide immediate relief.
At Jairampur, local MLA Laisam Simai along with local administration ADC (in-charge) K Tikhak distributed relief materials, like mosquito net, blanket and plastic mat and Rs 2000 each to all the 148 families residing in three relief camps on Monday.
Though the water level of Namchik river has started to recede, the families in relief camps have not been allowed to return to their respective homes by the local administration as a precautionary step.
Pema seeks central assistance to deal with flood devastation
NEW DELHI, Jul 25: Deeply concerned over trails of devastation caused by the incessant rain triggered flood in Arunchal Pradesh, state Chief Minister Pema Khandu has sought the union government's support in overcoming the situation. In his meeting with the Prime Minister on Sunday, Pema had apprised him about the grim flood situation of the state.
As a follow up action, Khandu met Union Minister of Home Affairs Rajnath Singh and Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju today and sought their immediate attention and assistance in sending a central team to assess the flood situation and the consequent damages caused to property so that relief and rehabilitation process could be put into action at the earliest.
Pema apprised that the state is currently reeling under a situation of severe flood due to the monsoon rains. The eastern districts of Lower Dibang Valley, Lohit, Namsai and Changlang were worst effected and more than 26 villages are in critical condition with damages of crop and property.
"The NDRF and District Administration have already swung into action in these districts with the aim to mitigate and ensure there is no loss of human lives and further loss of property. Deputy Chief Minister has already rushed back from Delhi to the flood zone and is monitoring the situation on the ground", he added further while enclosing the preliminary damage reports of the concern Deputy Commissioners.
Union Minister for Home Affairs and MOS Home assured all possible assistance to the state at the earliest.
CM was accompanied by Chief Secretary Shakuntala Gamlin during the two different meetings.
Hanging bridge damaged

MIAO, Jul 25: The three decades old hanging bridge over Namphuk river at Ningrang village under Miao Sub-Division was damaged Sunday due to the heavy rains. The bridge is the only means of crossing the Namphuk River for the villagers of Ningrang and Nayang villages to reach their rice fields. All the rice fields of Ningrang village are located across the river.
A villager from Ningrang said that with peak wet rice cultivation season, the damage to the bridge have brought in misery for the people. The villagers are hoping that the concerned authorities will immediately repair the bridge so that the agricultural activities are not hampered.
Meanwhile, the Mpen and Dharmapur areas under Miao circle are partially inundated with erosion continuing. The Noa Dihing River is not receding. Villagers near Namchik under Kharsang circle are still submerged by flood waters. Flood waters continue to overflow over parts of the main road near Miao.
Do not pollute burial ground; Committee appeals admin

PASIGHAT, Jul 25: The Sarvajanik Siang Aarti Mahotsava Committee (SSAMC) on Monday expressed its strong disapproval over dumping of waste in the Common Burial Ground, Pasighat by the Urban Development department and other corporations.
The plot has been allocated by the government as common burial ground but the continuous dumping of waste at the site in recent years has left no land for proper burial. The Sarvajanik Siang Aarti Mahotsava Committee has been monitoring the area and conducting numerous cleanliness drives.
SSAMC Secretary General, Gemin Modi has further appealed to the district administration not to pollute the area and clean the burial ground at the earliest.
No shortage of relief items: Mein
CHANGLANG, Jul 25: Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on Monday assured all possible help from the State Government to the flood affected people of the State.
There will be no shortages of basic necessary items for the flood victims who are currently taking shelter in relief camps, Mein said after visiting the flood affected areas of Diyun, where more than 1000 people were affected by flood this year since April.
The state government will try its level best to bring permanent solution to the recurring flood in Diyun area caused by spillage of Noa Dehing River, he said and directed the Executive Engineer, Department of Water Resource, Bordumsa to submit detailed report and estimates to the Govt. immediately for a durable flood protection measures.
He asked the local administration to carry out proper damage assessments and submit the same for providing interim relief.
Terming flood as major problem which hits the area every year, the Deputy Chief Minister suggested plugging of river in the lower bank areas to avert its recurrence in future.
Earlier, local MLA Nikh Kamin informed Mein that river erosion has rendered about 200 families landless while about 1000 people were affected by flood during the current monsoon. He requested the deputy chief minister to provide adequate relief and assistance to the affected families.
Mein, accompanied by Local MLA Nikh Kamin, MLA Namsai Zignu Namchoom, Changlang Deputy Commissioner Wayong Kihimhun and Superintendent of Police Amit Sharma, visited major river erosion site in the bank of River Noa Dehing which is gradually advancing towards Moitripur village, Jyotipur, Dumpani, etc.
Earlier, Mein accompanied by Namsai MLA also visited Philobari village off Namsai district where Noa Dehing River is eroding its bank and changing the course towards the village. DIPRO
Pema reach out to Samsung for CSR initiatives
NEW DELHI, Jul 25: Chief Minister Pema Khandu had a meeting with representatives of Samsung Electronics Deepak Bharadwaj, Vice President (Public Affairs) and Vikram Sridharan, Lead Govt Vertical regarding partnership with the state government in welfare activities under the company's CSR initiatives.
One of the best offers that came up during the discussion is the establishment of 'Samsung Digital Healthcare Centers' in the state. Under this initiative, the state government will identify three tentative hospitals in the state for setting up of high end X Ray and Ultrasound digital machines (approx cost: Rs 2.50 Crores).
These machines would be provided by Samsung Electronics under CSR.
"We shall be providing you the same within this week to enable recce by your team to finalise the site for installation of the same," the Chief Minister assured the company representatives.
In another initiative - Samsung Digital Program - Samsung intends to leverage students of NIT, NERIST and Polytechnics and also unemployed computer engineers and encourage them to develop mobile applications using the Tizen OS. For this Samsung has offered to train Master Trainers in the state free of cost. In this regard, it was resolved that 'Tie ups' with Ministry of MSME and Skill Development would be explored.
Pema's pursuance for skill development and employment generation further resulted in Samsung's acceptance to extend its 'Samsung Apprentice Program' in Arunachal Pradesh. Under this programme, the Chief Minister was informed, Samsung would enroll students of ITIs and Polytechnics and offer 'On the Job training' (OJT) in its Noida Plant that will subsequently guarantee placement opportunities.
When informed that Samsung has already funded smart classes in all Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) in the Country to set up Smart Digital Classrooms, the Chief Minister assured that the state government will inspect these Smart Classes of JNVs in Arunachal Pradesh and send a report to the company. He, however, requested Samsung Electronics to extend the usage of these facilities to other schools in the state as well.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the people to Samsung Electronics, the Chief Minister assured the state government's commitment to take the opening ahead.
"Please send us the formal proposal immediately so that we can take up these CSR programs of Samsung in the State and fast track these initiatives," he requested.

WASE’s war against drug abuse

ITANAGAR, Jul 25: Yet again, a drug peddler was arrested with huge amount of drugs from Pasighat on the midnight of July 23 last. The accused has been identified as Lorance Kadu and the raid was conducted by Executive magistrate A Koyu, police along with the members of Women Against Social Evil (WASE) with the help of a decoy customer.
Brown sugar, various tablets including Estilo, Zinconia, Rabesei, Multimin, Insulin and Disposal syringes and Alser D-7 were recovered from his residence located near Public Bus Stand. He has been booked under section 21(A) NDPS Act. Apart from the drugs, large number of lighters and notes of Rs 10 were also found from his possession.
The accused, who is an addict himself, is currently under judicial custody and the next hearing for the case has been fixed on August 5.
Meanwhile, general secretary WASE Joya Tasung Moyong informed that the accused along with other drug peddlers in the area supplied drugs to Opium Substitution Therapy (OST) centre at General Hospital Pasighat where addicts come for treatment.
"For them, it's a readymade market," she says.
Transporters seek revision of fare
ITANAGAR, Jul 25: In a memorandum submitted to the Commissioner Transport on Monday, the All Arunachal Pradesh Public Transport Federation (AAPPTF) led by its president Dobing Sonam has urged the former to revise the passenger fare from Itanagar to Seppa from Rs 650/- to Rs 800/- as per the notification issued by the state transport authority (STA).
The federation in its representation informed the commissioner that the STP vide its notification No TPT (B) 18/89 dated 19.12.2000 had notified the fares and freight for all kinds of vehicles of the state under Section 67 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and accordingly the fare to Seppa from Itanagar and vice versa was set to Rs 800. However, the regional transport authority (RTA) through its own notification issued on 16.02.2015 instead of increasing the fare had decreased it to Rs 650/-.
The fare in today's date if calculated as per the notification issued by STA comes to Rs 1544/- (Rs 4 x 386kms= Rs 1544) but in the Itanagar to Seppa case it is Rs 650/- which is not at all justified taking into consideration the road condition, vehicle maintenance charges and increase of petrol rates etc. This has been causing immense tribulations to the vehicles owners and drivers, the AAPPTF wrote in its letter.
Also alleging that the RTA had fixed the new rates without taking into consideration the prevailing factors and conditions and adding that the RTA can only fix fares and freights if directed by a government notification, the federation serving an ultimatum of 10 days has threatened to charge Rs 800/- if the transport authority fails to look into their demands.
AAPPTF along with the All East Kameng Tata Sumo Union (AEKTSU) led by Karling Sonam also met transport director and deputy director on the occasion and put forward their grievances to which the duo along with the commissioner has reportedly assured to look into.
Artistes Forum seek fund to preserve, propagate cultural activities
ITANAGAR, Jul 25: The Arunachal Artistes Forum (AAF) urged the State Government to grant sufficient fund for promotion and propagation of culture and cultural activities in the state.
The Forum in its General Body Meeting at Vivekananda Hall of RK Mission here on July 23 lamented that the artistes and professionals in the art and culture sector have not been yet given due recognition in the state.
Highlighting the role of artistes in preserving and promoting wide range of culture, including, folklore, folkdance etc. besides entertaining the people, the Forum appealed to the Government to create more job in the Art and Culture Department to absorb the young and talented artistes from various tribes and communities.
While requesting the Art & Culture Department not to appoint any candidate against any vacant post of artistes without proper advertisement, the Forum also demanded that the multi-purpose building constructed exclusively for Director, Art & Culture Department should immediately be reinstated to the department without any further delay.
The meeting was attended by representatives from various districts.
Pema meets the Gandhis
NEW DELHI Jul 25: Arunachal Chief Minister Pema Khandu along with former Chief Minister Nabam Tuki and Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President Padi Richo called on AICC President Sonia Gandhi and AICC Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Monday.
The Arunachal delegation was accompanied by AICC General Secretary CP Joshi and his colleagues Mukul Wasnik (General Secretary) and Dr Jaykumar (Secretary).
In the brief meeting, the AICC chief Ms Gandhi congratulated the newly elected Chief Minister and advised Mr Khandu to govern the state on the principles of equality, secularism and justice.
The senior Congress leaders also advised the Chief Minister and his team to adopt "inclusive development" and accord paramount importance to it.

Bridges on Siang, Upper Siang road by 2018: BRO
YINGKIONG, Jul 25: Border Roads Organization (BRO) has taken up construction of higher load class bridges to replace the existing old suspension bridges on Pangin-Yingkiong road.
Brig CC Jaleel, who was on a 4-day inspection of roads in Siang valley recently, has emphasized on early replacement of old bailey suspension bridges (BSB) at Sangam, Boleng and Ditte Dime.
While expressing satisfaction over progress of bridge works at Boleng and Ditte Dime, he said construction at Sangam site would soon commence as the contract is already awarded.
He further stated that since long span bridge construction on hilly terrain is a challenging task a specialized bridging unit (1448 Bridge Construction Company) has been entrusted the responsibilities to complete these bridges.
While interacting with Upper Siang Deputy Commissioner Remo Kamki, he requested the district administration to regulate traffic over the existing weak bridges and sought cooperation from administration and public to restrict the load class to 12 ton (including self weight of vehicle).
Commander of 761 BRTF SK Pradhan informed that regular upkeep of existing bridges is being done to ensure connectivity between Siang and Upper Siang districts. In the event of snapping of one of these bridges, it would require considerable time and efforts to replace or rebuild such specialized suspension bridges, he said.
He, therefore, stressed on the need to self regulate until the major bridges under construction get completed.
He further informed that 16 more bridges between Ditte Dime and Migging would be replaced by higher load classification major concrete/steel bridges by 2019 in a phased manner. DIPRO
Tirap to streamline PDS
KHONSA, July 25: A meeting was held to streamline the PDS delivery system in the backdrop of the Food Security Act at Khonsa involving government officials of the Tirap district on Monday.
Convening the meeting, Tirap Deputy Commissioner Ravi Jha asked the administrative officers and the DFCSO to spare no effort in implementation of the various government schemes vis-a-vis PDS in the interest of the consumers. He asked the officials to be pro-active and check the activities of the stakeholders like petrol pump, FPS etc from time to time.
EACs from Lazu and Deomali, CO, Dadam and DFCSO attended the meeting.
Meanwhile a discussion was also held on Aadhar and Account Seeding of NFSA Ration Cards for implementation of DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer), POS (Point of Sale) wherever applicable on the basis of internet connectivity, open market availability and proximity to banks. The district required a hybrid model of DBT considering the difficulties of penetration of banking facilities, public transport and market availability. FPS based modeling will be done in this regard and the proposals will be sent to the state government. The administrative officers were briefed on the importance of implementation of DBT and POS and also on their role to expedite seeding of Aadhar Cards and Bank Accounts with the ration cards.
The DC informed that the Aadhar Cards of all family members in a ration card had to be seeded and that anyone of the account numbers of the family member in a ration card could be seeded. The DC also directed the officers in the circles to adopt the organic Aadhar Seeding Method to complete the seeding of Aadhar within stipulated time which may include door to door campaigns, involvement of Gram Panchayat Members and the FPS owners when the ration card holders come to lift the ration items at their circle levels. The DC warned the licensees of getting their licenses cancelled if they failed to lift the PDS items on time to their designated FPS from the main godown.
Give guidelines to the universities for in-service employees, ACS
ITANAGAR, July 25: Citing various loopholes in the educational degrees acquired by in-service government employees, the Arunachal Civil Society has appealed the concerned state authorities for strategic guidelines to the universities giving B.Ed and other courses.
In a memorandum to the Secretary Education, it stated that no study leaves were given to many employees but they have acquired certificates for various courses. There are no records available in the departments whether an employee has taken permission for study, while no queries have been done by the authorities despite having certificates from various institutions across India, added the memorandum.
ACS requested the Education Department for issuing NOC with study leave period of two years and notifying the institutions where the applicant may apply for studies.
Women SHGs attend orientation workshop
ITANAGAR, Jul 25: In all, 160 members of 33 women Self Help Groups (SHGs) of 10 wards of the Capital Complex attended a National Youth Project (NYP) conducted area-level federation orientation workshop here on Monday.
The workshop aimed at creating awareness amongst members of various women SHGs to avail the welfare schemes launched under state and central flagship programmes.
Speaking on the occasion, NYP president H P Biswas advised the participants to work with sincerity and commitment to avail the benefits of various schemes and programmes.
State Urban Mission manager, Ravi Sharma and IMC coordinator, Tagru Amji was also present on the occasion.
DC inspects Sub Post Office
ANINI, Jul 25: Dibang Valley DC, Tamune Miso, while inspecting the Sub Post Office, Anini on Monday observed the absence of a proper boundary wall, ramp for differently-abled persons besides, poorly maintained office building and shortage of staffs. He also expressed dissatisfaction over the fact that equipments supplied under Project Arrow Office were left unused and damaged.
Interacting with officers and officials of department, the DC further said that the post office needs a Postman at earliest for its proper functioning. He also instructed the SPM, Sub Office Anini to deposit cash to the treasury for safety.
The Sub Office's SPM on behalf of the staffs also placed their grievances, to which the DC assured to approach the proper authority for early redress. (DIPRO)

ITANAGAR, Jul 25: Nyapin Nyobia Sangram Phassang Students Union (NNSPSU) on Monday sought teachers for Economics, Commerce and English at Government Higher Secondary School, Nyapin. Counseling and orientation programme for students
ITANAGAR, Jul 25: A daylong counseling and orientation programme for students of JNK public school was held at the school in collaboration with Don Bosco Youth Centre (DBYC), Itanagar on July 25.
The programme aimed at giving focus to the students' right at the beginning of the academic session and to take them through till the end with motivation and single-minded devotion to learning.
Interactive sessions such as Know Your Self, Goal-Setting, Study Methods, Time Management and Challenges of Young People were conducted for the school children. The one-day training enabled the students to get to know themselves, their companions, their aspirations and to help one another to achieve goals they have set for themselves. Some of the students availed the opportunity also for personal counseling and to clarify certain pertinent doubts concerning life and growing up.

Performance of NHIDCL worrying
For year the North East region in particularly Arunachal Pradesh has been struggling
with poor road connectivity. Border Road Organization (BRO) which was earlier entrusted
to improve road connectivity in the region has failed to complete most of the project.
BRO has been bogged down by lack of modern equipments and many of their projects
either got scrapped or are progressing at snail pace. Worried over this development,
government of India created National Highway Infrastructure Development Corporation
Limited (NHIDCL) to replace Border Roads Organization in order to improve the road
connectivity in the difficult terrains of NE region.
However as per the report, NHIDCL will only be able to construct around 300 kms
of road till 2019, out of the total 4, 000 kms of roads it promised to build. This
report is alarming and will definitely worry everyone. There was much hype around
NHIDCL and people of north east genuinely hoped that they would do much better job
than BRO. But sadly things are not going as per expectation of the people. NHIDCL
will have to really pull up sock in coming months. It is well known that issues like
land acquisition and forest clearance are creating some kind of trouble. But NHIDCL
cannot pass on buck by using them as excuses. They should develop better coordination
with state government in this regard. One of the biggest mistakes BRO did was by
not involving the local people. NHIDCL should recruit local people and involve them
in the road projects. This will develop a sense of community participation.

Colony without water
Dear Editor,
Ever since the downpour has started, water supply in Polo colony in Daporijo has
been affected. It has been hard time for colony dwellers as they have to fetch water
from other colonies or forced to use muddy water. Many times people have to clean
the water pipes to clear out the muddy water. PHE Daporijo should look into such
matters. One can survive a month or more without food but it is impossible without
water.
Therefore through your esteemed daily, I on behalf of the colony dwellers would like
to request the concern department to supply water to the colony.

Return road tax
Dear Editor,
Driving from the highway Nirjuli to itanagar in this monsoon takes extra long hours
due to 'pot holes' all through the road. The bumpy rides is agonising specially for
person in small cars. The damages to vehicles due to bad road are another matter.
Sometimes, I feel like filing case in the court of law against the department and
construction agency for compensation for my health as well as my vehicle. After paying
road tax for 10 years in advance, I am entitled to good road. Otherwise govt should
return my road tax amount.
I wonder how a road that was maintained hardly a month back is damaged again so soon.
Why can’t the Bitumin topped road do not even last one monsoon season in Arunachal

Either the road technology used by the department is outdated or the material used
for roads are of 'substandard' quality. If state capital roads are like this what
can we expect of road qualities in districts?
I understand we have placed the sufficient numbers of officers under Highway department
from junior ranking to chief engineer (Quality control). So I urge the officers concern
to check the capital roads for quality controls.

Beware of fraud institutions
Dear Editor,
First of all, congratulations to the Class XII students who have passed this year
and better luck next time to the others who have tried.
As the admission hour is in full swing, I bring to the notice of the parents, guardians
and students who wish to study outside, especially in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. In the
recent years maximum students are seen moving to Dehradun for further studies in
various courses such as B.Sc, BA, Medicals and B.Tech. But how many of them get the
proper affiliated colleges and institutions?
In recent years many Colleges and Institutions have come up with fake affiliations
and promises. Some are blacklisted too by UGC.
Some students opt to study in such colleges and Institutions without proper knowledge,
guidance and ideas.
I would request the concerned ones to be aware of such things and not let your hard
earned money get wasted. If possible visit the Campus of the College or Institute
before admission or ask your relatives or friends who are already studying or has
studied in the desired state to find out the details.
When the real problems arise during the college session and with parents far away,
the seniors and has to suffer and run for the cause when a complain comes to them.

Open letter to Chief Engineer
Dear Editor,
I had applied for post of UDC at WR department through online and I submitted all
required documents including treasury challan which was mentioned at department advertisements.
Now my name has been mentioned in the rejected list and reasons are that documents
were not clear.
I requested the concern Superintendent Engineer, showed the original documents which
I scanned and submitted but in vain. He is totally adamant and saying once rejected
is rejected and not listening to any requests.
We are not asking any favour or any appointments letter. We are just asking for
our rights. Fail and pass doesn't matter but we would b satisfied if atleast we could
write the exams for which we were preparing for many months.
I'm confused whether it’s my fault since I submitted all necessary documents online.
So I humbly request our Chief Engineer to give justice to all aspirants who are trying
hard to face the exam but rejected for silly reasons.

Examination confusion
Dear Editor,
Through the column of your esteem newspaper, I would like to request APPSCE to come
out with their decision as early as possible about conducting APPSCE, AE(CIVIL) Exams.
Its a moment of great confusion for aspirants trying to give the best for said exam
because one has to take leave and come to Itanagar one month prior to exam from outpost
or far away districts.
It causes difficult and discouragement to wait for exam and at last when it gets
postponed. Aspirant can neither wait nor go back to posting place for work or far
away hometowns.
Also APPSCE should look into grievances of other aspirants as the exam is coinciding
with the SSC exams.
Hope officials of APPSCE understand the tension and confusion of aspirant and come
out with an early decision.

Even God has given up
Dear Editor,
This is in response to "let APPSC conduct the recruitments" by one Rokpen Gali.
As an unemployed graduate, I have been appearing for Departmental exams since 2011.These
are the following as I sum up my ordeals.
1) If 3 or 4 departmental posts are advertised, its damn sure that some 10-15/seats
extra are for the waitlisted. Even God has given up on how, where and when these
seats sprang up!
2) The more the merrier if it's JE(Junior Engineers) recruitment. Here the ratio
of seats for the waitlisted to the original advertised is 3:1(conservative estimate).Till
late 90's, JE's recruitment were done by APPSC, how it ended up with Departments
is anybody's guess.
3) Mobiles and whatsapp groups are a must to be competitive in any departmental exams
in Arunachal. Even the invigilators are a fearful lot that their intervention against
such malpractices may cost them a teeth or two not to forget "ruko, tumko baad mein
dekhega haan" lines.
4) The Departments hardly follow any recruitment rules. The recent advertisement
by RD department for 3 gazetted Group B Jt B.DO posts is a pointer to that. When
did recruitment of gazetted post becomes a prerogative of a department, APPCS please
take notice otherwise departments would make you redundant.
5) Finally, the results are a sham mostly. It is for certain that kiths and kin of
the head of the department unwittingly makes it to the final selections barring a
few aberrations which is few and far between. Nowadays, it is also a given and a
gaining notion that one can clear APPSC or even UPSC exams but not Arunachali Departmental
exams.
6) And the irony of the times is that I would still run around and fill up the forms
like a fool even if a single departmental post is advertised.
In view of the aforesaid and being a desperate candidate at that it's my sincerest
of the request to the Young CM, atleast let us have a semblance of decent, fair and
upright selection and recruitment process. We have been wronged for a long time and
corruption have sipped in so deep that only your Honourable's involvement could stir
thing up.
By the way thanks to R.D for contemplating conducting a gazetted post recruitment.
Nothing could be more absurd than this. Arunachal, truly a land of khusi khusi.

Plight of a customer
Dear Editor,
Through this column, I would like to express the plight of Samsung customers in Arunachal
Pradesh. It is very obvious that if any product is under warranty, it is supreme
right of customers to claim for and foremost duty of service centre to provide service
priority. Presently there's Samsung trend in Arunachal Pradesh; right from school
level student to top class people, they prefer Samsung mobile phone, with a view
that it has got service centre in Itanagar. But most of them dont know how much time
service centre will take to deliver the product after servicing.
Let me share my bitter experiences with an authorised Samsung service centre in Itanagar.
In December 2015 last, I purchased Samsung galaxy J7 and after 2 month I found problems
while charging it. It took a month to repair.
Again in April 2016, I purchased Samsung tab e and by July 2016, I faced display
problem. I am told my problem will be addressed only in first week of September.
Till then I have to keep my tab with the service centre.
I am highly taken aback with these bitter experiences with Samsung service.
